Smudgy LOVED cat milk. He was a great hunter and often turned his nose up at cat food, but he really enjoyed his milk. Occasionally, the cupboard was bare - no milk! There was always a bowl of water for him to drink, but he never drank it. I tried different tactics to get him to drink water ... letting him see it was fresh from the tap, putting it in a china dish ... but no, it was dirty water from a puddle or not at all. I on the other really enjoy water. I always have a glass of water with meals, and always take a glass of water to bed with me. One night, I was sound asleep, warm as toast when I was wakened by an unusual sound. Coming to, I couldn't fathom what the noise was. Was there a leak in the roof ..... ? Then I felt breathing next to me ..... Got it? Smudgy did enjoy water after all! He was really enjoying the glass of water on my bedside table! I've no idea if I caught him first time round, but after that I took a glass of water to bed for Smudgy ... and a bottle of water for myself!
